Recipe: Oat straw tea
Looking for something new to replace your standard coffee or tea bag brew? We’ve got you covered! This nourishing oat straw tea is quick and simple to make. On top of that, it contains only two ingredients (one of which is water), so it’s easy on the wallet as well.
The small but mighty grains we know as oats have a well-balanced nutritional profile, being a great source of carbs, fibre, and beta-glucan. They’re also high in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. In terms of powers, they possess sedative, soothing, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties (to name a few). Pretty cool, right? You can find out more about oats in our blog post here.
Okay, we rest our case for now – let’s get brewing!
Ingredients
25g oat straw
1 litre just-boiled water
Method
Pour 1 litre of freshly boiled water onto 25g of oat straw tea and leave to brew for a minimum of 4 hours.
Strain and either add ice and drink throughout the day as a cold beverage or rewarm and drink as a warm tea.
We hope you enjoy this nourishing hug in a mug!
