Research at Endeavour

Endeavour supports research as a process which facilitates the creation of new complementary and integrative medicine knowledge, and draws on research to inform curriculum content, design and development as well as organisational policy. We recognise research which honours the roots of complementary and integrative medicine in all of its forms not only aligns with our own organisational values, but also the values of the students who choose to study with Endeavour and the attributes of our graduates. Through robust and rigorous research, the true value of complementary and integrative medicine within contemporary healthcare, and as a result the ongoing viability of the professions our graduates will enter into, can be realised.

Endeavour is an institution with diverse activities and aspirations however these all centre on supporting and promoting exceptional health practitioners through delivering the highest standards in education and training.

Research is an important part of this commitment and the Office of Research at Endeavour is responsible for bringing these aspirations to fruition. The Office of Research vision is to disseminate and critically examine all aspects of contemporary complementary medicine practice through the application of non-partisan, rigorous, and robust empirical research. In doing so, we will become a world-leader in practice-driven research within complementary medicine.

To achieve this, the Office of Research is committed to the following aims:

  1. Support the creation of new knowledge related to complementary medicine (CM);
  2. Critically examine Endeavour’s practice and activities to inform future improvements;
  3. Explore the risks and benefits of CM for the broader community; and
  4. Engage with key stakeholders within the health community and the general population to examine the place and role of CM in contemporary health care.

These aims are achieved at Endeavour through a range of initiatives and programs designed to support a research positive environment at the College and enable research capacity with academic staff. In addition, these initiatives and programs are designed to foster networks and collaborative relationships with external research groups as well as deliver a cost-effective and comprehensive research program which aligns with the core values and mission of the College.
