About this webinar

Over the last few years, there has been a concerted push by marketers towards specific forms of folate. Ultimately, the clinician must consider current evidence to inform best practice when working with fertility and other medically significant matters. The interest in emerging sciences must be balanced with a measured and comprehensive review of the factors which could lead to adverse outcomes or treatment failure, and a consideration of medico-legal risk.

In this session, practitioners will gain confidence in prescribing by engaging with both the principles of evidence based medicine and holism.

• An understanding of the role of folates in pregnancy outcomes, cardiovascular disease and oncology
• An evidence-based assessment of clinical claims relating to folic acid safety and efficacy
• The safety and efficacy of folic acid in individuals with specific SNP’s

Samuel is the Education and Technical Manager at BioMedica, leading a growing and dedicated team of practitioners and researchers in the delivery of high quality educational material and technical support. Samuel is an Endeavour College graduate with both clinical practice and post-graduate research experience. He has lectured nationally to a broad cross section of the healthcare industry, contributed nutrition and naturopathic articles to a variety of publications and has been a guest speaker at industry events. Samuel has always focused on taking a balanced view of healthcare, evaluating health trends for their clinical relevance and scientific rigour. His passion is assisting practitioners to stay abreast of the latest research to facilitate the delivery of optimal health outcomes.
