WEAVE got you with this Indigenous Weaving workshop by Erica Eurell from Dreamtime Artistry.


About the workshop
Step into Indigenous culture, have a yarn and connect with each other and Country all while creating a beautiful and unique woven basket.
During this class, you'll be guided by Erica, a Traditional Custodian from the Yugambeh Language Region of the Gold Coast, as well as a descendant of the Aboriginal people from Wollumbin Mount Warning.
Learn traditional basket weaving techniques as you gain a deeper understanding and knowledge of Culture.
At the end of the class, return home with the start of a unique woven basket and the skills to continue creating.

About the presenter
Erica Eurell is a Traditional Custodian from the Yugambeh Language Region of the Gold Coast., as well as descendant of the Aboriginal people from Wollumbin Mount Warning.
Erica has a passion for connecting with community so her knowledge in culture has grown and thus helps others within the wider community develop an increased understanding and respect for the culture. To achieve this Erica supports and seeks out skills and knowledge of Indigenous artists and craftsmen/women. The connections she has made through weaving and painting, and particularly Language and performance based projects, has allowed Erica to connect to other active members of the community, so she has a strong understanding of cultural protocols and, in particular, needs of the Indigenous youth of who are the future of of arts and culture.
