2021 National Graduations

After hours of studying, preparing assignments, and sitting for your exams - We wanted to wish all our graduates a very big congratulations for making it to the finish line.

A message from Professor Michael Weir AM PhD

Dear Endeavour Graduate,

Your graduation day is an important milestone in your life. It is both an ending and a beginning, a day to reflect on memories of the past and your dreams for the future. You will graduate with a new academic award to your name. This is a major achievement and confirms that you are qualified in a valuable health science or applied health science field. It is the culmination of your years of dedication and hard work towards completion of this award. The experiences you’ve had, the connections you’ve made and the knowledge and skills that you’ve gained with us have equipped you to take your place in an industry that is respected and sought by most Australians

In completing your studies, you have demonstrated the enormously important life skill of ‘resilience.’ Although any formal education requires persistence and determination, doing so during a pandemic has required you to summon great depths of fortitude to deal with rapid change and no doubt personal hardship to still arrive at the end of your journey.

Endeavour College of Natural Health and our alumni are there to support you on your journey. Endeavour is by far Australia’s largest and most enduring institution in this field.

As well as the Alumni association, another common tie binding our graduates is their determination to keep their clients’ needs firmly at the centre of their practice. As part of the Endeavour family, you were prepared to understand that the client seeking your help is looking to be heard, respected and treated as a whole person. This is a characteristic that marks our graduates apart and is a focus that is sorely needed as more Australians turn to the natural health industry for the answers they can’t find elsewhere.

As new dimensions of integrative health practice continue to emerge, there are many career options for you to consider when it comes to using your knowledge to educate or transform the lives of others.

As you shape your career, I encourage you to retain a thirst for knowledge – nothing will serve you better. Listen to your clients and colleagues, learn from your experiences, read in your field, collaborate with others, further your education, stay abreast of current research, and don’t be afraid to challenge assumptions – particularly your own.

Remember you will always have a home at Endeavour, so please keep in touch with us through our Alumni association. As well as providing updates on further professional development, there is nothing that pleases us more than celebrating the success of our graduates as they demonstrate the major contributions that they make across the many fields for which their academic awards have qualified them.

Finally, I want to sincerely congratulate you on the achievement of your graduation. Whatever your dreams are beyond today, I hope the values of lifelong learning, informed reflection, caring for our communities and a holistic approach to care will continue to guide you.

Sincerely,

Professor Michael Weir BA, LLB (hons)(Qld) LLM (Bond) PhD (Bond) GAICD
