Role description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Melbourne Campus as a Student Careers Advisor, reporting to the National Partnerships and Careers Service Manager. We are open to candidates who are looking to work on either a full-time or part-time basis. We are seeking a dynamic and outgoing individual to cultivate career development learning activities focusing on improving students’ employability, by providing career and employment preparation support and advice. You will facilitate student engagement with stakeholders, including alumni, employers, university staff and professional associations in order to enhance students’ successful transition to employment. Your key responsibilities will also include: Deliver career development presentations to inform and empower individuals and groups through career focused events, presentations, workshops and education programs Provide online and on-campus one-on-one career advice consultations Analyse and report on the employment trends and outcomes of students graduating from Endeavour Implement and facilitate internship/work experience and other work-integrated learning programs Organise and host the Endeavour Webinar Program Create career development resources that assists students with their career planning, and successful transition to employment Assist in the maintenance and updating of the Careers Service’s online presence including, digital resources, and databases Provide support to international students This position involves travel at certain times of the semester to host career development presentations on different Endeavour Campuses.

Qualifications and experience

You are passionate about providing exceptional advice to students to improve their employability, with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role. You are a motivated self-starter who is confident, flexible and able to effectively build rapport. You will also have:  

A post-graduate qualification in Career Development and/or a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Naturopathy
High level skills in developing, delivering and evaluating career presentations
Proven experience in providing assistance and advice to individuals on careers and employment issues
Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with and provide information and advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders involved in work-integrated learning programs
Effective written and verbal communications skills with experience in presenting to various audiences
Ability to work autonomously within a geographically dispersed team
