About Cancer Services Austin Health is one of the largest cancer service providers in Victoria. A complete range of services are delivered to patients and their families, including medical oncology, clinical haematology, radiation oncology (Austin Health and BHS), cancer genetics, palliative care, wellness and supportive care programs, an active volunteer program and specialist cancer surgery (managed via a separate CSU). These are all provided in an environment that integrates research, teaching and training.? All Austin Health Cancer Services are delivered within the Olivia Newton-John Cancer, Wellness & Research Centre (ONJ Centre) at the Austin Hospital. This state-of-the-art facility provides a model of individualised cancer care for patients and their families. Clinical Services are provided in a range of inpatient and ambulatory settings. Inpatient services include an acute oncology/clinical haematology ward, an oncology ward and a palliative care ward. Ambulatory services include Radiation Oncology, Day Oncology, Apheresis, and multidisciplinary specialist cancer clinics. About the Cancer Wellness Program Oncology Massage Therapy is an important service provided within the Wellness and Supportive Care Program. Working in collaboration with the existing part-time Oncology Massage Therapist, this role will provide specialised oncology massage to patients with cancer from the Wellness Centre, Day Oncology, Radiotherapy, Palliative Care Unit and the oncology wards.
Ideally, you'll have: 1. Completed modules 1-4 of the Oncology Massage Training program via www.oncologymassagetraining.com.au or equivalent.2. Minimum 5 years experience in the provision of therapeutic massage, including provision of massage to oncology patients in a community or hospital/care setting.3. Membership of a relevant professional massage association. 4. Demonstrated understanding of the supportive care needs of people with cancer - physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and informational.
