The opportunity

We are on the lookout for a customer-centric IT Support Specialist to join our IT Services team! If you are truly passionate and enthusiastic about IT and can bring previous experience from an IT Support position - read on, this is the opportunity for you!

In this role, you will support our staff and students and management of the IT infrastructure across all Endeavour campuses. Joining our national IT Services team, you will bring your proactive approach to ensure business continuity and a healthy IT environment through a well prepared and maintained IT infrastructure.

What does this look like day to day? These are some key activities of the role:

  • Support of ICT infrastructure and systems to provide a stable and efficient IT environment
  • Incident management – diagnosis and troubleshooting of service desk tickets
  • Shared responsibility with team members for uptime of servers, network, and systems
  • Manage backups across all systems
  • Setup, maintain and support IT infrastructure
  • Support end user OS and apps (Windows, Mac, Office 365, business applications etc)
  • Escalate incidents and problems for resolution by appropriate staff and vendors
  • Documentation of procedures, configurations, and solutions, and proactively seek and update information to procedures and FAQs
  • On occasion, work will need to be actioned outside of the normal business hours to meet operational requirements.

Based at our new Sydney campus, this is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

About You

You are experienced in IT Support and have a positive attitude, coupled with confident communication and excellent technical skills. You are motivated by providing exceptional service to support and enhance the experience of your stakeholders.

You have a genuine passion for finding solutions for problems, with a results driven approach and belief in continual learning.

You have the balanced skill of working well within a team and building relationships, as well as working independently. Using your strong communication skills and customer service focus, you aim to provide a positive and seamless experience for your stakeholders.

The following skills, experience and qualifications will support your success in this role:

  • Demonstrated 2+ years in a 2nd line and higher technical support position
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and PowerShell
  • Linux (administration and best practice)
  • Experience configuring and installing switches (HP, Cisco)
  • AWS, Office 365, Exchange server and SharePoint Online administration
  • Strong understanding of network topology
  • Strong awareness of user and network security
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to delegate and set priorities
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An enthusiasm and passion for IT
