The opportunity

We are on the lookout for a customer-centric Business Systems Manager in Higher Education sector to join our Business systems team within our Technology Services teams located at Sydney or Brisbane campus. In this role, reporting to our Head of Technology Services you will support our staff and students and manage the Business Systems Team (2 direct reports) and responsible for maintenance of ERP and other application systems. Joining our national Technology Services team, you will bring your proactive approach to ensure all business systems are support and operational.

What does this look like day to day? These are some key activities for this role:

  • Systems Support for three core operations in Higher Education ERP system (TechnologyOne)
    • Student Management
    • HR and Payroll
    • Finance
  • Other Business applications and integrations support (e.g., LMS, Active Directory, CRM, etc. integrations to/from the ERP)
  • Administer, Support, and configure application systems
  • Closely work with SaaS provider on ERP support, upgrade, and maintenance.
  • Proactively manage the team and external providers whilst working collaboratively with other Technology Services and Business teams.
  • Incident management – diagnosis and troubleshooting of issues, service desk tickets and proactive communication to stakeholders around it.
  • Implement, maintain, and manage Business Systems policies, processes, and training materials with the team.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Sydney or Brisbane location, hybrid work model (2 days WFH).

About You

You are experienced in Business Systems management and support (in ERP) in higher education sector and have a positive attitude, coupled with excellent communication and technical skills. You are motivated by providing exceptional service to support and enhance the experience of your stakeholders and manage team and external providers.

You have a genuine passion for finding solutions for problems, with a result driven approach and belief in continual learning.

You have the balanced skill of working well within a team and building relationships, as well as working independently

The following skills, experience and qualifications will support your success in this role:

  • Proven 5+ years business applications / ERP support and 3+ years of business systems management experience
  • Understanding of concepts and best practices in Higher education application systems support delivery, and experience in developing associated practices, processes, and documentation
  • Strong skillsets and proven experience in managing Business Systems and team
  • Experience in TechnologyOne ERP system is a plus.
  • Experience in business systems process mapping is desirable
  • Excellent organisational, team and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and/or in team environment to delegate and set priorities
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business / systems analyst, computer science, engineering, or similar and certifications in areas of expertise are desirable
