The opportunity

Be an integral member of the Academic department, with a primary objective of providing personalised and proactive academic support to enrich the student learning experience and mentoring to students supporting their transition to the profession through fostering student-to-industry connections.

An Academic Supervisor, you will provide teaching and learning of the highest standard to Endeavour students by delivering contemporary, high quality, consistent subject materials according to national curriculum standards whilst motivating, supporting and engaging students and meeting their learning needs to produce high quality future professionals.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Fostering and mentoring the student-to-industry connection through collaborating with internal student service functions and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with other Academic Supervisors to develop and deliver an effective student academic support framework.
  • Providing proactive outbound support to academically struggling students to positively impact student retention and outcomes.
  • Delivery of academic study skills and discipline specific workshops to enhance student learning.
  • Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions and clinical sessions using innovative, flexible and stimulating course materials.
  • Maintaining contemporary knowledge of academic, professional and industrial developments in Nutrition by continuous scholarship and developing and maintaining external academic, industry and professional links.
  • Implementing strategies to enhance the student experience and retention, including providing timely and accurate information to students.
  • Contributing towards the scholarly activity of the College by way of collaborations, grant applications, publications, seminars and/or conference presentations.

This is being offered as a fixed term (until September) maternity leave, part time opportunity (0.7 FTE), located in our Sydney campus.

About you

You are a strong communicator, skilled across interpersonal, verbal and written communications. You have the ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Nutrition industry and the wider community.

You have a proven commitment to high ethical, personal and professional standards in all aspects of leadership and work.

The following qualifications, skills and experience will support your success in this role:

  • A Bachelor degree AND Postgraduate qualification in Nutrition or a related area
  • Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Higher Education is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience working within the Nutrition industry
  • Demonstrated experience in tertiary level teaching delivery and teaching groups with diverse backgrounds and demographics
  • Demonstrated success in supporting and engaging with students to enhance their learning experience
  • Demonstrated exceptional relationship building and stakeholder management skills
