The Office of Research at Endeavour College of Natural Health has a particular focus which examines issues and outcomes associated with the complementary medicine (CM) practice in Australia and where relevant throughout the world.

Biography

Dr Genevieve Kinna has been appointed as the Acting Associate Director, Research for an interim period within the Office of Research. Genevieve brings to the role a broad range of skills across research, management and education along with extensive practical and administrative experience. While trained as developmental biologist, earning her Doctorate through the University of Queensland, Genevieve’s strength in operations has led her to take on management roles in higher education and government. Genevieve’s research skills have also been applied to higher education where she has collaborated with academics to publish in the educational research space.  Genevieve’s interest is in supporting the cross-disciplinary collaboration of complementary medicine educators and researchers to continue to build our research capacity and output.

Dr. Janet SchlossClinical Trials Manager PhD, Post Grad Cert (Clinical Nutrition), Adv. Dip (Nat), Dip (Nut), Dip (Herbal Medicine), BHSc (Art) Office of Research Brisbane

Biography

Janet has been in private practice as a nutritionist for over 20 years and has completed her Doctorate at the School of Medicine in the University of Queensland through the Princess Alexandra Hospital.  She has also lectured at Endeavour for over 14 years and is the Clinical Trials Manager with the Office of Research. Janet’s role as the Clinical Trials Manager is to conduct rigorous and robust clinical trials within complementary medicine research. The clinical trials are conducted within the Office of Research and with external stakeholders. Janet’s main clinical and research interest is oncology, especially assisting patients undergoing medical treatment. Within her role, Janet manages and coordinates the activities of the Clinical Trials Office in the Office of Research.

Helen HeathwoodClinical Trials Nurse RN

Biography

Helen has been a registered nurse for over 35 years. She has undertaken speciality nursing care in dermatology, community, general recovery, renal and IVF fertility. In addition to her nursing, Helen has been involved with conducting clinical trials in the areas of cardiovascular, renal and cancer care. Her passion is connecting with people and passing on her skills and knowledge.
