From high school to higher learning: how to make a smooth transition

Written by Endeavour College of Natural Health | 17 December, 2019

Exams are over and the results are in. It’s an exciting and, let’s be honest, a slightly nerve-racking time as you decide on your next move. Some may choose to take a break and travel, some will go straight into the workforce, and many will opt to maintain the flow of study life and go straight into higher education.

If you’re considering higher education, the jump to private college or university may seem like a daunting one – but it doesn’t have to be. Here’s how to make the transition easier and to get the most out of your first year…

Come along to O-Week

O-Week (Orientation Week) is a fantastic way to get to know your campus. You’ll be taken around the campus, get a clinic introduction, meet your local lecturing team and find out more about opportunities to further your education. We highly recommend all new students take part as it will help settle you into life at Endeavour.

Get in touch with Student Services

We have a team dedicated to helping you. You can visit them on campus and ask them anything to do with student life – that’s timetabling, upcoming events, admin assistance and more. They’re always happy to help and will be there to support you in your first year and beyond.

Take advantage of our on-campus events

Meet other students, learn something new, pick up some healthy treats – our Student Experience team hold regular student events which help to build a stronger student community. Whether it’s a free coffee day, special guest speakers, or student market stalls, take advantage of what college life has to offer right here on campus.

Join your campus Facebook page

Once you’ve enrolled, we suggest you follow your campus’ Facebook page. Here you’ll find out information specific to your campus such as upcoming community events, notifications and study tips.

Access support whenever you need it

If you’re feeling stressed, low or a bit lost, we have a support service which is available 24/7 completely free of charge to all our students.

Join us at our upcoming Open Day!

Our next Open Day is happening on Saturday 18 January 2020. Head here to register for your local campus.

Enrolment questions? Just ask!

How many online classes can I take? When do I start my practical experience in the clinic? What are my payment options? What is the enrolment process?

If you have a question about enrolment, our Admissions Advisers have probably heard it and, better still, will know the answer. They are just a quick phone call (1300 462 887), email or live chat away. They’ll also be able to help you work out a study plan to suit your life and commitments, that way you’ll be set up for success before you even begin.

Did you know Endeavour College is a direct entry institution? That means you can apply directly to us. Plus, your ATAR is not the primary benchmark for admissions, we take a more holistic approach .
