Don’t miss out on the ultimate study snack, courtesy of our Nutrition graduate Nina Gelbke.

Did you know your brain is your most energy-consuming organ and is responsible for approximately 20% of your total daily energy expenditure at rest?

That’s why it’s SO important to stay well fueled when you’re using your brain for important activities (like study!) to keep focused and support your learning and concentration.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can chickpeas or butter beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2/3 cup (60g) rolled oats
  • 3 tbsp (60g) maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup (60g) peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp flaxmeal
  • Pinch of salt
  • Handful of chocolate, chopped

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients (except chocolate) into a food processor and blend until a sticky ‘dough’ forms.
  2. Mix through the chocolate, then roll into golf ball-sized balls.
  3. Pop in the freezer to firm for an hour or two, then EAT!!
