We have an new vacancy for a VET Trainer/ Assessor in the area of Remedial Therapies on our Melbourne Campus. In this position you will be required to work with both general and academic staff of all levels within the business. You will be a self-starter with an ability to work autonomously and within a team environment who enjoys keeping up to date with relevant industry knowledge and practices
The primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Trainer/Assessor
• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations and workshops, using innovative, flexible and stimulating course material for students undertaking VET coursework programs
• Create an environment conducive to student-centred learning through positive interaction with students
• Involved in ongoing consultation with students.
• Stay abreast of academic, professional and industrial developments in the musculoskeletal therapy and remedial massage profession by appropriate means, and maintaining and developing academic, professional and industrial contacts
• Contribute to course development and assessment material as required
• Responsible for recognising prior learning applications
• Recommend changes where appropriate re. assessments and recognition of prior learning/credit processes for all subjects
• Promote and ensure compliance with legal and statutory obligations and all of Endeavour’s policies and procedures including but not limited to Endeavour’s Code of Conduct, Anti-Discrimination, EEO and Health and Safety
• Other teaching related duties directly related to the allocated subjects, as directed
Training Coordinator
• Deliver contact training in relevant VET qualifications
• Promote all Endeavour College courses and assist in business development for the relevant Department
• Contribute in timetabling of training rooms, equipment and staff
• Train and assess students within the courses
• Monitor the performance of departmental trainer/assessors
• Develop resource materials for the courses when required
• Introduce the award courses and explain the requirements to students at the commencement of these courses
• Record student results
• Assist in promotional duties including trade shows and careers expos
To be successful in the role you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
• Certificate and/or Diploma in relevant field (essential)
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
• Proven experience in implementing curriculum and courses
• Experience presenting/training in the Australian allied health industry
• Demonstrably high level written and verbal communication skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to deliver quality training, coordinate programs and manage staff
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Effective presentation of relevant information to students in competency based courses
• Provision of professional advice appropriate to the specific needs of general clients and in accordance with best practice industry standards
Contract Type: Full Time position, Fixed Term Contract until December 2013 (with high possibility of extension for 2014)
Location: Melbourne Campus
Salary range: up to $60,000 per annum plus 9% superannuation (based on a full time position and dependent on experience and qualifications)

Senior Lecturer - Remedial Therapies (1.0)

We have an immediate vacancy for a Full Time Senior Lecturer within our Remedial Therapies department on the Melbourne Campus. To be successful in this position you will need to be qualified and have the demonstrated ability to teach with authority any subjects in the Bachelor of Health Science (Musculoskeletal Therapy) program from Semester 2 to Semester 6, including clinical practicum subjects. Teaching is obligatory and will be for a maximum of 5 units (12-15 hours per week, unless otherwise agreed). We invite suitably qualified practitioners/teachers to submit applications.
The primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions and clinical sessions using innovative, flexible and stimulating course materials for students undertaking VET and undergraduate coursework for the appointed discipline. • Initiate and develop course and assessment material with appropriate advice from and support of more senior staff members in line with industry developments, market/community needs, regulatory and professional guidelines and the strategic direction of Endeavour
• Contribute towards the academic and research output of the school by way of publications, seminars and conference presentations and applied research involvement in professional activity
• Develop program material with appropriate advice from and support of more senior staff members;
• Manage teaching staffing requirements for the State with support from the PL to ensure the delivery of quality program materials including:
o Recruitment and induction of appropriately skilled Industry lecturers to meet program needs
o Supervision of modality teaching staff to ensure quality and consistency of course and assessment materials delivered
o Provision of regular feedback including formal reviews to teaching staff using student evaluations and other quantifiable measures
o Management of performance issues within the Industry lecturer team
o Ongoing staff development to ensure program current and future needs are met
• Implement strategies to enhance the student experience and retention, including providing timely and accurate information to students and use evidence including student feedback and consultation to target and monitor quality improvement initiatives
• Update Subject Delivery Guides (SDG) and Subject Study Guides (SSG) including readings on an ongoing basis to ensure content is in line with current research and practice
• Ensure subject notes are available to lecturers and students to access online
• Undertake and assist where necessary with assessments for recognition of prior learning/credit for the subjects allocated obtaining advice from the PL as required
• Take a leadership role in marking and assessment of course materials
• Act as the first point of contact and liaison for student academic queries for the assigned subject/s and act within Endeavour policies
• Attend, convene and document departmental and/or faculty meetings as required and participate through membership in relevant committee/s.
• Work with fellow SL in others states to write exam / assessments and marking guides nationally for the allocated subject/s;
• Be responsible for external subject delivery/content matters
To be successful in the role you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
• A degree in the field and a post-graduate degree in the field or related area (for Higher Education subjects)
• Extensive experience in tertiary level teaching including the design and development of new courses, delivery and teaching groups with diverse cultural backgrounds
• Effective organizational skills in relation to the planning, development, implementation, management, administration and review of courses and programs to achieve an effective learning environment for students
• Proven experience in development and review of curriculum and assessment materials at Bachelor level in line with regulatory and professional guidelines
• Demonstrated track record and capacity to undertake research in appointed and/or related field
• Effective communication and administrative skills so as to be able to liaise with the academic, business and wider community to promote the school/department’s academic, professional and other activities

Working closely with the Program Leader, this position provides support and guidance to the Social Sciences department. To be successful in the role you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
• A bachelors degree in the field AND a post-graduate degree in the field or related area (for Higher Education courses)
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (for VET courses)
• Experience working within the industry of expertise
• Extensive experience in VET and/or tertiary level teaching including the subject delivery and teaching groups with diverse cultural backgrounds
• Extensive experience in assessment marking and providing feedback to students
• Proven experience in development and review of curriculum and assessment materials at VET and Bachelor level in line with regulatory and professional guidelines
• Effective communication and administrative skills so as to be able to liaise with the academic, business and wider community to promote the department’s academic, professional and other activities
• Demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships and build alliances both within and external to the school and external to the College, including industry and the wider community

• Contribute towards the academic and research output of the school by way of publications, seminars and conference presentations and applied research involvement in professional activity
• Ensure subject notes are available for access by students online
• Assist where necessary with assessments for recognition of prior learning/credit for the subjects allocated
• Provide regular feedback to students to ensure progress towards subject outcomes
• Marking and review of assessment materials
• Act as the first point of contact and liaison for student academic queries for the assigned subject/s and act within Endeavour policies and procedures
• Attendance at departmental and/or faculty meetings and/or membership of a number of committees
• Set aside up to 3 hours each week for pre-booked student consultations, with set times published in advance
• Promote and ensure compliance with legal and statutory obligations and all of Endeavour’s policies and procedures including but not limited to Endeavour’s Code of Conduct, Anti-Discrimination, EEO and Health and Safety
• A range of administrative functions the majority of which are connected with the subjects being taught
• Other duties as directed by the Senior Lecturer and/or Program Leader
To be successful in the role you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
• A bachelors degree in the field AND a post-graduate degree in the field or related area (for Higher Education courses)
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (for VET courses only)
• Experience working within the industry of expertise
• Extensive experience in VET and/or tertiary level teaching including the subject delivery and teaching groups with diverse cultural backgrounds
• Extensive experience in assessment marking and providing feedback to students
• Proven experience in development and review of curriculum and assessment materials at VET and Bachelor level in line with regulatory and professional guidelines
• Effective communication and administrative skills so as to be able to liaise with the academic, business and wider community to promote the department’s academic, professional and other activities
• Demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships and build alliances both within and external to the school and external to the College, including industry and the wider community
• Demonstrated and proven commitment to high ethical, personal and professional standards in all aspects of leadership and work.

• Develop program material with appropriate advice from and support of more senior staff members;
• Manage teaching staffing requirements for the State with support from the PL to ensure the delivery of quality program materials including:
o Recruitment and induction of appropriately skilled Industry lecturers to meet program needs
o Supervision of modality teaching staff to ensure quality and consistency of course and assessment materials delivered
o Provision of regular feedback including formal reviews to teaching staff using student evaluations and other quantifiable measures
o Management of performance issues within the Industry lecturer team
o Ongoing staff development to ensure program current and future needs are met
• Implement strategies to enhance the student experience and retention, including providing timely and accurate information to students and use evidence including student feedback and consultation to target and monitor quality improvement initiatives
• Update Subject Delivery Guides (SDG) and Subject Study Guides (SSG) including readings on an ongoing basis to ensure content is in line with current research and practice

• Take a leadership role in marking and assessment of course materials
