Massage Therapy
Overview
Massage involves healing by touch. Working with the soft tissues of the body including muscles, tendons and ligaments, the massage therapist helps the body improve the functioning of joints and muscles, as well as promoting circulation and general body tone and relieving mental and physical fatigue.
Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice and Diploma of Remedial Massage
This course provides graduates with the ability to assess and treat soft tissue dysfunction, to alleviate pain and enhance movement and function. It includes detailed studies of massage, soft tissue techniques, assessment and management of muscle injury, anatomy, physiology and pathology, clinical practice, and interpersonal skills. There is an emphasis on sports massage, management and treatment of common sporting injuries and the application of massage techniques in a corporate environment.
Theory components of the Diploma and Certificate IV can be competed by flexible delivery, thus providing students with better flexibility in completing the course. Clinic and practical subjects must be undertaken on campus. The Certificate IV is a pre-requisite to the Diploma.

Senior First Aid /Level 2 First Aid is part of the course requirement and must be obtained prior to commencing clinic. This is to be arranged privately by the student and information on providers is available at reception.
