Director of Education
Dr Vardaxis holds a PhD in Pathology from the University of Melbourne which was awarded in 1988. He has held a number of senior academic posts in many tertiary institutions, including the University of Melbourne, Phillip Institute of Technology and RMIT University. His career includes activities in basic biomedical science research and associations with research organisations abroad and in Australia.
He is an associate researcher at the Macfarlane Burnett Centre for Medical Research and also at the Austin Research Institute. Dr Vardaxis’ passion for teaching was recognised in 1997 when he was awarded the Australian Government’s inaugural Australian University Teaching Award in the field of health. He is also an author, having published several undergraduate textbooks and is currently one of three editors-in-chief of Mosby’s Dictionary of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions.
Head of School/Associate Director of Education
Dr Seroya Crouch is an internationally experienced leader with over 25 years’ experience in the field of naturopathic medicine and managing private practice. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Hons.) from Acadia University in Canada, and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D) from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in the USA.
Seroya has previously held senior roles with the National College of Natural Medicine in America. She has owned a successful business specialising in publishing, training and products in the emerging field of energy medicine. Her teaching background has been with adults in energy medicine, psychology and spirituality in workshops for practitioners and the public, at naturopathic medical schools, and one-on-one in private practice.
Dr Crouch brings a valuable international perspective to the College drawing on her networks and teaching experience in America, Germany, Nicaragua, Canada and Zambia. She participated in WHO Consultations on the development of educational standards for Traditional Medicine professions, as well as in the development of the Naturopathic Medical Research Agenda, a project sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (USA).
Program Leader, Social Sciences
Natalie Daniel has educational qualifications in Counselling, Music Psychotherapy, and Business Marketing, with her highest qualifications a Master of Counselling from ACU National and Post Graduate Diploma in GIM (Music Psychotherapy) from the University of Melbourne. Natalie also holds Diploma Awards in Health Science (Holistic Counselling Practice) and Business (Marketing), as well as a Cert IV Training & Assessment, and a Cert II in Community Services (Alcohol and other Drug Work).
Natalie is currently completing her Graduate Certificate of Higher Education. Natalie brings considerable practical experience to the role of Program Leader Social Sciences, through years of professional counselling in both agencies and the private sector. This combined with years of teaching experience in delivering counselling, communication and business subjects and associated course development, provides Natalie with the practical experience required to pioneer new courses and develop appropriate curriculum with the Social Sciences Department into the future. Natalie has previously held the position of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) delegate, and council member for her professional member association (MIAA).
Academic Finance Manager
Dr Isaac Golden has been a homeopathic practitioner since 1984 and has taught homeopathy since 1988 and established the Australasian College of Hahnemannian Homoeopathy in 1990.
In March 1999 Dr Golden was awarded the Australian Homoeopathic Association’s Distinguished Service Award for his “many years of service to the Australian Homeopathic Association and for his significant contributions to the homeopathic profession in Australia”.
He is a world authority on the use of homeopathic medicine to prevent infectious diseases. He has authored 10 books and numerous articles on homeopathy. He was the first person to be awarded a PhD in homeopathy from a mainstream Australian university.
Program Leader, Homeopathy
Alastair Gray heads the homeopathic medicine department nationally at Endeavour College of Natural Health. He is responsible for the quality of curriculum for both the Advanced Diploma and Bachelor course offerings, and the academic integrity of the programs.
For 20 years Alastair has run a general natural medicine practice in the inner west and east of Sydney Australia and in Auckland, New Zealand. Clinical practice remains a significant feature of his work with a focus in the treatment of anxiety, depression, addiction and men’s health. His latest book Case Taking: The Landscape of Homeopathic Medicine Vol I was published in 2010.
Program Leader, Bioscience
National Manager - Quality Standards and Compliance Manager
Dr Morrison holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Anatomy from the University of Aberdeen and a PhD in Developmental Anatomy from the University of Wales (UK), College of Cardiff. Dr Morrison worked for many years as a medical postdoctoral researcher in connective and muscle tissue research specifically looking at the development of articular cartilage to aid in determining the processes that occur in the disease Osteoarthritis. She was the prolific author of many research papers published in internationally acclaimed journals.
During her studies in the UK, Dr Morrison started her interest in teaching as an Anatomy tutor to medical and dental students. She joined the academic team in 1999 and became the Head of Faculty for Bioscience in 2004. She has contributed as an author to the Foundations of Massage text edited by Endeavour Academic staff and published by Elsevier. Dr Morrison now works closely with the Head of School Holistic Medicine to support all academic staff at the College, plan teaching strategies for the future and is also responsible for developing curriculum and maintaining high teaching standards for all health and social science units across the range of Endeavour courses.
Dr Morrison is a strong advocate and supporter of natural medicine as incorporated into a healthy way of life. Her ambition is to encourage and support academic staff in developing and teaching internationally recognised natural medicine courses.
Assistant Program Leader Naturopathy/Nutritional Medicine/Western Herbal Medicine
David has more than 25 years experience as a natural health practitioner in the areas of remedial massage, naturopathy and Western herbal medicine. He has been involved in natural medicine education as a lecturer, clinic practicum supervisor and curriculum developer since 1988. David has been an Executive Director of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society since 1991 and was an Industry Reference Group member for the development and review of the 2002 and 2007 National Health Training Packages for Complementary and Alternative Health.
Program Leader, Oriental Medicine (Acting)
Mark Shoring gained his Masters in Acupuncture at University of Western Sydney, Masters of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine and Herbal Medicine from University of New England, and Graduate Certificate Health Science in Human Nutrition from Deakin University and Graduate Certificate (Higher Education) from the University of Queensland. He has his Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy, Acupuncture, Musculoskeletal Therapy and has been employed with the College since 2001.
Mark also works with both national and international sporting stars and teams including members of 2004 Australian Olympic Team and Queensland Academy of Sport. He has been an executive representative on several professional associations and he is a published professional journal writer in his fields of expertise.
Program Leader, Remedial Therapies
Senior Lecturer - Homeopathy
Through Greg's acupuncture studies he became interested in homeopathy’s theory of ‘treating like with like’, and decided to enrol in an Advanced Diploma of Homeopathy, followed by a Bachelor of Health Science (Homeopathy) with Endeavour College. Greg graduated in 2005 and has since run his own homeopathy clinical practice. He has developed a special interest in helping children and patients suffering from chronic illnesses, two groups he believes homeopathy can treat particularly effectively.
Greg has continued his association with Endeavour College of Natural Health by becoming a Homeopathy Lecturer in Brisbane in 2009. He also works as a consultant supporting a company called ARCHIBEL, which provides software for homeopathy practices around the world.
